Comprehensive Flag Services

The Flag Research Center recommends that businesses and institutions with an ongoing need for accurate, up-to-date, and thorough flag-related information subscribe to its Comprehensive Flag Services. If you are using or considering sources of flag information other than the Flag Research Center to meet your professional requirements, consider this simple check-off list. A single annual fee provides the following:

• complete details sent by e-mail concerning all new and altered flags of importance, including national flags, international flags, state flags, etc.
• immediate responses to all communications (e-mail, telephone, fax) requesting information on any flag-related subject, including flag design, protocol, Pantone color shades, political status, etc.
• specifications for any other flags, current or historical
• an e-mail newsletter sent for important flag-related news
• a subscription to The Flag Bulletin, our hard-copy bimonthly journal
• access to the above services and products for all designated employees
• review of all customer flag information for accuracy
• discounts on purchase of books and other Center products

Flag Information Service

For smaller businesses and/or those with occasional information needs only, this option provides at a modest annual fee the same quality information as the Comprehensive Flag Services for the topics listed below only:

• immediate responses to all communications (e-mail, telephone, fax) requesting information on any flag-related subject, including flag design, protocol, Pantone color shades, political status, etc.
• an e-mail newsletter, sent for important flag-related news
• a subscription to The Flag Bulletin, our hard-copy bimonthly journal
• access to the above services and products for a designated employee
• discounts on purchase of books and other Center products

Consulting

Many Flag Research Center customers require information only for a single topic or a specific one-time project. We can provide professional assistance at our standard rate, billed in quarter-hour increments. After the inquirer defines briefly the nature of the question or project involved, Dr. Smith will suggest one of two options:

• the client will be advised to telephone for up to 15 minutes of direct dialogue with Dr. Smith on the issue in question; the minimum consulting fee is $60, payable in advance
• alternatively, Dr. Smith will recommend an appropriate minimum amount of time for preliminary and for thorough research and for a written report; the client may contract for the minimum or maximum recommended, providing credit card payment for the appropriate amount in advance.

Flag Designing

Dr. Smith has used his vexillographic (flag-designing) skills to create many unique banners, including those shown on this page. His designs have met the expectations of countries, businesses, and individuals by combining art, heraldry, and the customer's personal wishes. Each flag, based on an in-depth interview, is distinctive and meaningful. For a modest fee you can acquire a unique flag for yourself or to use as a gift for a family member or friend.
